BPG Outing to Bowling Green on August 7
Our next foray into the region for photo ops will be to the Kentucky town of Bowling Green, an hour or so north of Nashville on Saturday, August 7. BG is a proud town that boasts healthy manufacturing and industrial business, acclaimed higher education, a vibrant cultural scene, museums, and a traditional town square. Oh, and good places to eat. Here's how the morning will go: 8:15 - gather in the parking lot of Hollywood 27 Cinemas at 100 Oaks. We will divide into two groups headed to the following two BG features:
1. Western Kentucky University campus
2. Historic Rail Park, a railroad museum (http://www.historicrailpark.com/)
Tickets are $10/$8 for 55+. But, if we have 15 folks, it drops to $7 each.
Cameras and tripods are allowed.
8:30 - leave for BG (I'll have a few maps and some of you may have a GPS)
9:30 - arrive at the two destinations
10:30 or so - head into the center of town, park around Fountain Square, and shoot downtown
11:45 - meet at the big fountain (you can't miss it), divide up and hit the restaurants
1:00 - meet back at the big fountain.
Those who need to head home, we'll say goodbye to.
The last organized portion of the outing will be a tour of the Corvette Museum,
about 15 minutes from downtown.
Cameras and tripods are allowed.
The tour takes about 45 minutes, plus some shooting time.
Tickets are $10/$8 for 55+. No group rates, unfortunately.
2:15-2:30 - head back to Nashville and to 100 Oaks. So, who's in for our second interstate outing of the year? You know the drill with the much beloved Hold Harmless Agreement (see below).
Hope to see you there!

Check out the area around these four spots on the map, select which team you want to join, then email your selection to ME AND YOUR TEAM LEADER, please. Your leader will communicate directly with you on further details. ANY SUBJECT along this trail is approved for shooting with your eye on entering the contest this October in which 50 images will be chosen to hang in the exhibit at the Picture This Gallery (see Jerry Atnip's announce via his May 30 email explaining the details). Each of your leaders is committed to showing you some cool places and spaces on the morning of the 26th, followed by tasty stuff somewhere in the area! Please Note: A separate and customized Hold Harmless Agreement (attached) must be signed by each participant. Once signed, the HHA is good for any further solo or group outings for this project. OK!
